It is a common practice for a newly formed government to shuffle the IAS and IPS officers according to their liking. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is following this path as he has replaced three commissioners in the GHMC area with new officers. Revanth has now brought in another highly rated IAS officer, Amrapali to Telangana administration duties.
Amid suggestions that IAS officer, Smita Sabharwal, Secretary of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department of Telangana might get deputed to central duties, she has indirectly condemned them by being there while Seethakka took charge as minister yesterday. But still, Smita is getting replaced by Telugu-born IAS officer Amrapali.
Amrapali was appointed as HMDA joint commissioner by Revanth Reddy effective immediately. She was then given the additional responsibility of Musi River development in-charge. Amrapali served as the joint secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office and she will now be deputed to duties in the Telangana government.
As one highly ranked lady IAS officer, Smita walks out of the Telangana CMO, another highly placed officer Amrapali walks into the CMO. It is known that Amrapali has a Telugu connection as she was born in Ongole district. She will now be an integral part of the Telangana government.
