We Felt We Too Became CMs After Jagan Took Charge: Roja

YCP firebrand leader and Nagari MLA Roja, who is always known for her harsh criticism against TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and vitriolic attacks against YCP opponents, made some interesting remarks on AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“No Chief Minister had made such a statement in any Assembly. He said that Rojamma is my sister…She did not do any mistake.” It is these statements by Jagan that make me remain grateful to him for a lifetime, she said.

Roja said that she never had a desire to become a minister. She said that her only wish that Jagan become the Chief Minister. “We felt we too became CMs after he assumed charge,” Roja said.

She said that she never goes to constituencies of other MLAs nor does she keep quiet if somebody else tried to trouble her coming into her constituency.

On giving ministerial berth to Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Roja said that she never felt bad about it. Ramachandra Reddy had earlier worked as a minister and he also has control over Chittoor district, she said. “They did not give me a Cabinet berth but I am happy that I was given recognition,” she said.

She also said that she has close relations with Peddireddy’s family and that MP Mithun Reddy treats her like an elder sister.

Further, Roja said that minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and her father were good friends. “We grew up seeing Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. He extends immense support to me politically.”

She also said that Peddireddy is like a father-figure to her and Mithun Reddy is her brother. Roja said that she wanted to become an air hostess while her family wanted her to be a doctor but destiny had made her into an actor and then a politician.
