Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to the national capital, ahead of the elections, evoked much speculation in the political circles.
Jagan flew to Delhi and held three meetings back-to-back with the BJP honchos. The first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, AP BJP in-charge Vidyadhar Rao was followed by another after the latter left the room.
Later, Amit Shah also left the room leaving Modi and Jagan and their meeting lasted for more than an hour which led to speculation that they could have discussed more than pending funds to the state, special status and Polavaram project.
There is buzz that Jagan and Modi could have deliberated on the alliance between their parties. It is significant to note that TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu met Modi just a couple of days ago and there was talk that the duo discussed coalition.
According to sources, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is also scheduled to meet Modi in the next couple of days.
Political analysts are of the opinion that all these meetings have political implications rather than discussion of administrative affairs.
It is worth noting that the TDP and Jana Sena are going slow with regard to their campaigning and announcing the list of their candidates hoping a future alliance with the BJP, to trounce the ruling YCP in the state.
Now, the chiefs of all the major political parties in the fray in Andhra Pradesh meeting Modi and waiting for a nod from him indicate the degree of dependency of the regional parties and also shows their struggle to appease the political power at the Centre.
