AP Government (advisor) Jupudi Prabhakar Rao’s comments on Dr BR Ambedkar and CM YS Jagan are going viral. When questioned about the change of name of Ambedkar to Jagan for a scheme, Jupudi responded by defending that what matters is not the name of the scheme and what matters to Dalits is the amount of money that is getting benefited. He said it is CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration which increased the scheme’s monetary benefit substantially. For instance, the highest amount of assistance provided to merit Dalit students for international studies is Rs 15 lakh whereas it is 1.25 crore under CM Jagan’s government. He said the amount is ₹ 50 lakh for the other scheme.
Jupudi reiterated that it is CM Jagan’s government who built 125-feet Ambedkar statue whereas Chandrababu promised but failed to deliver. Jupudi said Dalits are okay if the scheme is renamed from Ambedkar Videsi Vidya to Jagan Anna Videsi Vidya as long as Dalits are getting benefited more. However, Jupudi admitted that Jagan is wanting publicity to his name and hence he might have changed it to his name. This caught the attention of pro-TDP netizens who are making Jupudi’s remarks viral.
These comments of Jupudi also didn’t go well on social media platforms. Many are questioning whether Jagan is equal to Ambedkar. Now YSRCP is in defence mode and caught off-guard. The YSRCP leaders are sticking to the topic that the amount of benefit to Dalits is increased by CM Jagan.
