Five years ago, in 2019, YS Sharmila was energetically campaigning for her brother YS Jagan’s YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh. Dramatically, in 2024, in roughly the same time period, she was arrested by the AP police in the YSR Congress government regime.
Sharmila was arrested in Vijayawada today while on Chalo Secretariat protest, demanding reasonable scheduling of the mega DSC notification that the Jagan government issued in a hurry before the election.
Immediately after the arrest, Sharmila spoke with Telugu media and showed the injury to her hand which looked really bruised, and said her late father YSR’s soul would be paining and her mother Vijayamma would be devastated by her arrest. Sharmila commented that Jagan is running his own constitution in Andhra Pradesh and termed him an incapable CM who will be taught a big lesson in the election.
AP Congress leaders are commenting that this is a terrible period for Vijayamma as she is seeing her own daughter being arrested by police while her own son Jagan is the CM of the state.
