More than 70,000 AT&T outages were reported around 8 am ET on Thursday in the USA. Most of the issues reported were from Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Houston.
Some Verizon and T-Mobile customers also reported outages across the USA. The outage reports started at 4 am Easter time on Thursday and as many as 32000 AT&T outages were reported by customers. The reports number went up to 70,000 by 8 am. Meanwhile, Cricket Wireless, which was owned by AT&T also experienced outages.
Cricket wrote on X, ‘Allow us to explain that there is a nationwide network incident impacting multiple services. It is Cricket’s top priority to restore service to full capacity as quickly and safely as possible.’
AT&T released the first statement acknowledging the outages saying, ‘We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.’
More than 1000 T-Mobile outages and about 3000 Verizon outages were reported by 7 am Thursday.
The outages has become a concern as some people may be unable to call 911 in case of emergency. The SFO fire department asked the AT&T customers who are trying to reach 911 to try calling from a landline.
