Gollapalli Quits TDP, Gets Jagan’s Appointment

Telugu Desam and Janasena are still working on their seat distribution agreement with certain candidates in both camps distraught about not getting the MLA or MP tickets. TDP’s Gollapalli Surya Rao has one such situation as he expected to get TDP Razole ticket but was turned down.

After winning Razole seat in 2019, Janasena’s Rapaka Varaprasad moved to YCP and he has been with the party for the last 5 years. But after this incident, Janasena leadership was firm on securing the Razole seat again and it managed to do so as well.

However, TDP leader Gollapalli Surya Rao who was hoping to get the TDP MLA ticket wasn’t pleased with the Razole ticket going to JSP. So he took a detour and quit TDP immediately after meeting YCP’s Kesineni Nani and Peddireddy Mithun Reddy.

Gollapalli Surya Rao has secured CM Jagan’s appointment and he will be meeting the YCP boss soon and then formally join the party. Amid the internal talks that Rapaka might get relocated from Razole to a different constituency or not get the MLA ticket at all, Gollapalli joining YCP gives an indication that he might be getting the ticket from YCP.

Razole is one of the more anticipated seats in AP polls and the local politics here are leading to a discussion.
