Oops! He Is Not YCP Candidate, But Janasena’s

Political defections are common before the election as we see a party member switching to another party when they don’t find favorable situations in their existing party. But here is a peculiar case of Janasena’s newly announced MLA candidate from the Railway Koduru constituency, Yanamala Bhaskar, a name that not many might have heard of.

Bhaskar is a self-proclaimed loyalist of Jagan for the last 13 years, as said by himself in a recent interview. He was by Jagan’s side for over a decade despite not being given public representation or electoral posts. There are several pics of Bhaskar with Jagan Mohan Reddy, Jagan’s right hand Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, and other key YCP leaders. This is an indication that he had a position of note in the YSR Congress.

But all of a sudden, before the election, he moved away from Jagan’s camp and silently joined Janasena. To everyone’s surprise, he got the Railway Koduru ticket from Janasena.

Considering Bhaskar’s affiliation with Jagan and other key leaders of YCP, if anything, he is expected to contest on YCP’s behalf. But by throwing a surprise to everyone, he managed to convince the JSP high command to give him the ticket. He went from being a hardcore Jagan supporter four months ago to becoming JSP contestant right ahead of the election.
