Last night, Central BJP announced the list of six MP candidates who will be contesting in Andhra Pradesh. This list is almost entirely dominated by ‘external’ leaders who came in from other parties.
Except for Srinivas Varma who was announced to be in the contest from Narsapuram, all the other MP candidates: Purandeswari, Kothapalli Geetha, CM Ramesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Vara Prasad are from other parties.
AP BJP seniors and loyalists who were with the party through thick and thin like GVL Narasimha Rao, Somu Veerraju, and Vishnu Vardhan Reddy could not find a place on the list and they are heard to be in severe distress.
The seniors are apparently stressed about the love the central high command showed for other-party leaders than themselves.
Vara Prasad who joined BJP last morning was given the Tirupati MP ticket in the evening, but Somu, GVL, and Vishnu who were with the party for a long time were ignored in the MP list.
A few of these seniors might find a spot in the coming assembly candidates list but their main focus was always on MP tickets, which hasn’t been fulfilled by the central BJP, at the expense of incoming leaders from other parties.
