YS Sharmila is doing everything in her power to counter her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. She has now started a mini operation Akarsh as she has started to attract the YCP MLAs in her own capacity.
Recently, Nandikotkur YCP MLA Arthur was invited to join AP Congress by Sharmila and now she has welcomed another sitting MLA from YCP into her political outfit.
The new MLA in citation here is Elijah who won on YCP ticket from Chintalapudi. After getting turned down by Jagan in his pursuit of candidacy in the 2024 election, he worked out an alternative plan and joined Congress. He was formally welcomed into Congress by YS Sharmila today.
Another YCP senior, Parigela Murali Krishna, former MLA of Kodumuru (2009) had also joined Congress in Sharmila’s presence recently.
Sharmila is slowly but surely attracting a handful of YCP leaders into Congress and is devising a mini operation Akarsh. From not even being able to field noted contestants in 2019, Congress is making progress under Sharmila by attracting ex-MLAs and also sitting MLAs.
