YS Sharmila continues to make controversial comments. Sharmila, the daughter of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, is in the fray for the Kadapa Parliament seat which was earlier represented by YSR. In Deja vu, Sharmila is contesting on the Congress ticket. She is directly locking horns with her own brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party. Jagan has fielded YS Avinash in Kadapa.
Sharmila along with her cousin Suneetha, daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, are levelling serious allegations against YS Avinash Reddy. Sharmila has earlier openly alleged that her brother and CM YS Jagan is shielding the murderers of former Kadapa MP YS Viveka.
In a fresh allegation, Sharmila alleged that she is contesting from Kadapa in order to avoid “murderers” entering the Parliament. AP PCC chief Sharmila kickstarted the Bus Yatra. She was accompanied by Suneetha. Sharmila’s comments turned out to be a headache for Jagan and Avinash.
Although Kadapa remains YSRCP’s bastion, such a level of serious allegations from the same family members in public forums is expected to dent the image of the party. Meanwhile, Suneetha appealed to Kadapa voters to vote for Sharmila and make her win as Kadapa MP. She said the battle is between Sharmila and her father Viveka’s murderers. She said her father Viveka’s last wish was to see Sharmila as Kadapa MP and hence she asked the Kadapa people to vote for Sharmila.
On the whole, the YS family dividing into two opposite groups and contesting against one another in Kadapa became a hot talking point. It needs to be seen what would be the verdict of the people of Kadapa.
