Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a last-gasp pre-polling electoral stint, sat down with a national media channel for an interview and he sounded fairly confident about sweeping the polls again. But he had one very convenient narrative about the cases topic.
When the interviewer asked Jagan about the cases pitted against Chandrababu, Jagan said Naidu did things that he shouldn’t have done. “Chandrababu is involved in a few scams and there is hard evidence substantiating it, so the investigating agencies arrested him. He committed several frauds while being the CM.’
But when Jagan was asked about his own cases, Jagan shifted the blame onto Chandrababu again. ‘Chandrababu and Congress were behind my arrest back then. They wanted to snub me in the budding stage knowing that I would become an unassailable force later. I was arrested in a fabricated cases.’
This has resulted in a social media commentary where people are commenting that it is farcical to see Jagan saying him serving 16 months in jail following a central agency investigation is fabricated while Chandrababu being jailed for 2 months in a state-level agency investigation is justified. The double talk on the contradicting nature of these cases has drawn a polar reaction.
