While Andhra Pradesh is heading for all-important assembly and parliament elections, Telangana is going for its third parliament elections. In this connection a report related to Chevella BJP candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is grabbing the eyeballs.
As Konda is contesting on behalf of a recognized national party, he has been given the top slot in the EVM. His name will come in second position on the EVM and it is all good till this point. But the real problem starts with another Konda who is placed beneath.
Interestingly, another candidate with the name Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is contesting on behalf of All India Forward Bloc and he is placed in the 5h position on the EVM.
This enraged BJP’s Konda and he approached the High Court saying the voters could confused with the names and this diversion tactic could lead to him losing a faction of his votes. He urged the court to push All India Forward Bloc’s Konda to 10th or below positions to avoid confusion.
But the court said it can’t intervene in this matter as the EC has prepared the EVMs already and no changes can be made henceforth. This has become a headache to the financially sound Konda who is one of the favorites to win Chevella.
