Mood Of The AP In Mini-election!

Back in the 2019 elections, probably no one had predicted the drubbing of the then-ruling TDP. YSRCP scored a landslide victory limiting TDP to meager 23 MLAs and 3 MPs.

That was a rude shock to many, including media that couldn’t gauge the public pulse precisely. Now several political pundits and poll experts have opinions similar undercurrent wave against YS Jagan-led YSRCP.

It is said that the anti-incumbency is huge and in fact much more intense than the previous government. The various on-ground reports are predicting a wave in favour of the TDP-Janasena-BJP alliance.

Just ahead of the May 13th election, a mini-election was held in AP. Various polling officials and staff who will be busy with the election work on the polling day cast their votes recently for the postal ballots. Unfazed by the soaring temperatures, the government employees took part in the postal ballot polling.

Usually, postal ballot voting may not witness such a high turnout. However, as per the reports, several employees who are reportedly dissatisfied with the ruling Jagan government decisively cast their votes, say reports. It is said that it is just the tip of an iceberg and the bigger threat looms large.

Back in 2019 too, the employees had reportedly acted against then TDP government. But this time, the majority of the employee unions are strongly opposing the incumbent government owing to the delay in salaries, pensions and lack of other benefits. So, political analysts and psephologists are opining an undercurrent wave for the opposition thus indicating a sweep for the alliance.
