CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of deceased journalists who died of Covid-19.
AP CM has given assurance to help the bereaved families of journalists who succumbed to corona virus, said the journalist union in a statement. A compensation of Rs 5 lakh has been announced to every journalist who died of Corona Virus.
While 38 journalists died of Covid in AP, the journalist union said it brought the plight of working journalists to the notice of the CM and the CM is positive on providing help and support.
The union said the government has also promised to set up special beds for journalists who are undergoing Covid treatment. The union has also sought insurance of Rs 50 lakh to journalists since they are Covid warriors risking their lives in these tough times.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid cases in AP have come down and the state recorded the lowest number of Covid cases on Monday. 3224 new Covid cases were reported in AP yesterday.
