Sharmila Gone Into Hibernation Mode?

Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila had been a staple presence in the AP political scene several weeks prior to the polling. She led the charge for Congress in AP and fumed at her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy saying his administration had been lackluster. She called on the people of AP to bring down her brother from the CM position.

Sharmila was seen touring day and night while leading the Congress campaign and energizing the Congress cadres to the best of her capabilities.

However, immediately after the completion of the polls, Sharmila has gone into hibernation mode. She is nowhere to be seen in the public forums nor has she been active on social media. She shared one customary tweet on May 14, the day after the election, and that has been about it.

On the flip side, Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the I-PAC office and stated that YCP’s win in 2024 will be bigger than the win in 2019. Chandrababu has been very active on social media, condemning the attacks on TDP cadres, and also touring places of worship including Tirumala, and Kolhapuri temples.

But coming to Sharmila, she has completely vanished after the polls. The last consolidated action from Sharmila has been her Supreme Court plea against the Kadapa court’s injunction order asking her to refrain from speaking on Viveka’s murder. Perhaps Sharmila will return to action only after the 2024 results are out.
