Congress party is currently showing its dominance in the election results in Telangana. Already, it displayed a victory against the BRS party during the Assembly elections.
Now, the party secured victory in another Assembly seat; with the demise of Lasya Nanditha, the election commission conducted a bypoll for the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment. Now, Congress has emerged victorious in the elections. The elections took place on May 13th, along with the Parliament polls.
Congress fielded Sri Ganesh from this constituency, and he was previously with the BJP. He ended up in the second place back then. Now, he contested with the Congress ticket and emerged victorious by defeating Niveditha Sayanna. Sri Ganesh campaigned aggressively in the constituency and has emerged victorious with a comfortable majority.
The by poll was necessitated due to the tragic death of Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Lasya Nandita in a road accident on February 23, 2024.
