Don’t Comment On CM Jagan’s Letter To CJI : YSRCP Orders!

CM YS Jagan’s letter to the Chief Justice of India complaining against Justice NV Ramana has kicked up a national debate. As the two constitutional functionaries are at loggerheads, the issue has been considered highly sensitive. In this backdrop, YSRCP’s state general secretary and Advisor to AP state government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has passed strict orders to ministers, senior leaders and party’s spokespersons to not comment on the issue.

Apparently, Sajjala sent out a message to leaders in Whatsapp group to not make any comments and asked them to be tight lipped about the issue. Since any comments and any remarks could lead to severe implications as the judiciary is closely monitoring the whole issue, Sajjala sent these orders to senior leadership. He asked leaders to not conduct any press conferences and not to issue any statements to the media on the issue. Even when media persons pressurise for the response on the issue, the state leaders have been advised to maintain the stand that the government has already responded on the issue and “nothing more needs to be clarified”.

It can also be noted that already several YSRCP netas are under the radar for making critical comments and satirical posts against judges on social media. AP High Court has handed over the case to the CBI and demanded a detailed probe.
