Now that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has lost the chief minister status, the YSRCP chief will face many troubles in the coming days. The CBI will especially put pressure back on him with old cases.
On Thursday, the CBI Court heard the cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, resulting in an adjournment until Friday. The court announced its decision to conduct daily hearings starting on Friday.
The CBI Court addresses 11 cases filed by the CBI and 9 cases by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) daily. Previously, the High Court had exempted Jagan from personal attendance due to his position as Chief Minister.
However, since Jagan is no longer the CM, the CBI seeks to lift this exemption, urging the court to mandate his attendance at the investigations. Throughout his tenure as CM, Jagan cited his official responsibilities as a reason for his absence from court, a stance he can no longer maintain.
These cases are part of a larger set of legal challenges Jagan is facing, involving both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. With the court’s plan to conduct daily hearings starting from tomorrow, the proceedings are expected to intensify, particularly in light of the CBI’s request to lift Jagan’s previous exemption from personal attendance.
