Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going all out to keep his YSR Congress party afloat after the disastrous show in the 2024 election. He is holding workshops and meetings to keep his cadres engaged. In one such workshop in Tadepalli today, Jagan enlightened his cadres about the importance of social media.
“Henceforth, every nominated leader in YSR Congress must be aware of social media. Even village-level leaders must have social media handles and use them for the party. To incentivize social media users, I will give out promotions to the leaders who put up the best performance on social media.” Jagan said as he linked social media usage to internal promotions in YCP.
Usually, it is ground-level campaigning and vote capturing that secures promotions in party ranks but Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a different approach, it appears.
On the contrary, Jagan is facing a degree of discontentment from his own cadres who are gruntled about lack of recognition while Jagan was CM. “We weren’t recognized and empowered while our party is in power. What is the use of working hard on social media while the party is out of power? What rewards will we get in return all of a sudden now” a disgruntled follower of YCP remarked.
