The schools across Andhra Pradesh have reopened after seven months of closure due to the global pandemic, Covid-19. But only 9th and Tenth standard classes are only being asked to begin initially. Before this the government has sanitised all the schools across the state and have asked all the students to wear a mask.
The AP government decided to reopen schools abiding by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which the Centre has brought in for the education department. Also for the schools and colleges, the academic calendar has been modified.
Simultaneously the AP government has reopened the junior colleges but only the inter second year students are being allowed. Depending upon the response and feedback, the government is in thoughts to allow sixth to eighth standard students and then first to fifth standard.
From November 16th, inter first year class will resume while sixth to eighth and first to fifth standard classes are likely to commence from November 23rd and December 14th respectively.
Coming to degree, PG professional and non-professional courses, they would resume in phase wise manner starting from Monday.
As the academic year has lost nearly five months, the government has cut down thirty percent of syllabus. However, there is minimal presence of students across the schools in AP. The officials stated that the initial days of school would have this trend and gradually students would grow and are confident of holding classes without hurdles.
