It is a known fact that the CBI and ED investigations on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets cases have been going on for well over a decade now. With Jagan skipping the court hearings, citing one reason or another, the investigation was also put on the back burner.
However, in what could be considered a pretty substantial development with regard to the case; the Supreme Court has instructed the CBI and ED to submit the full details on Jagan’s cases.
The apex court has ordered the investigation agencies to provide complete data of the investigation, discharge petitions, and pending applications in a chart format. The court set a 2-week deadline for the process.
This comes after the incumbent deputy Speaker of AP Assembly, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju approached the court to fast track the investigation. He even sought the court to push the case to a different state’s high court.
Upon hearing this case, the apex court questioned the agencies about the delay in the case.
Incidentally, the Supreme Court had already instructed the Telangana High Court to investigate the case on a daily basis. Now, the full details are to be submitted to the Supreme Court itself. With such significant action being taken; it has to seen if there will be any notable progress in the course of the investigation.
