‘5 MLAs Quitting YCP, No Elections Next Time’

The landslide defeat in the 2024 general election has proven to be extremely detrimental for the YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh. The party is facing existential crisis now and things are looking bleak with the exodus of senior leaders. Alla Nani, Breda Mastan, Avanti Srinivas, Grandhi Srinivas, and several others have left Jagan’s side already.

Adding more woes to YCP’s situation, seasoned AP politician and ex Congress MLA Gone Prakash Rao commented that 4-5 MLAs are ready to leave the party effective immediately.

“YCP has lost 2-3 Rajyasabha MPs and it will lose 4-5 MLAs very soon. Shockingly, even Jagan’s loyalists like Alla Nani and Balineni Srinivasa Reddy are leaving his side. Once the 5 MLAs leave YCP, then there will be nothing left. There might not even be an opposition party to contest next election.” Prakash Rao said.

The senior politician claimed that Jagan is way too monopolistic to sustain in politics. “Even after getting just 11 seats, Jagan is in the delusion that his policies were right. He is a grossly misinformed leader. After endless corruption in sand and liquor policies in his tenure, people have rejected Jagan. But he still thinks he is coming power next time. Things are outright bad.”

Gone Prakash Rao is a seasoned politician who was around right from YSR and CBN’s early days. He anyway has no stakes in contemporary politics so whatever he has to say will have a neutral consensus. The fact that he projects a clean sweep for YCP might leave the party leaders tensed. But Jagan, being Jagan is confident about actually regaining power in the very next election.
