It is already known that former deputy chief minster Alla Nani quit YSR Congress after the historic debacle in the recent assembly election. After resigning from YSR Congress, Nani stated that he will stay away from active politics for the time being.
Now months after his resignation, Nani has started to prepare the political ground for his entry into the Telugu Desam party. As per the latest reports, the former deputy CM will be joining Telugu Desam in the presence of CM Chandrababu Naidu tomorrow.
It is an open fact that the local Telugu Desam cadres are severely opposing Nani‘s inclusion in the party. Eluru TDP MLA Badeti Chanti has reportedly taken up the matter to the high command as well. But this is a calculated political move to further deteriorate the YSR Congress in the Eluru segment.
Without a senior leader, like Alla Nani, the YSR Congress ecosystem will find it extremely hard to survive in the Eluru segment and it would be dealt with a killer blow.
It must be noted that Nani is a seasoned leader who first won Eluru in 2004 and was an integral member of the YSR regime. He was then encouraged by Jagan in 2014 and 19. But the senior leader found it hard to gel with monopolistic Jagan and has thus decided to quit YCP.
With Nani’s inclusion, TDP must be virtually untouchable in Eluru and the nearby segments, remarked a senior analyst.
