TTD Darshan in 1 hour : Chairman says it’s possible

Getting darshan of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy in his abode ‘Tirumala’ is considered as a sacred gift and a divine luck for Hindu pilgrims all over the globe. To get the darshan of the god, millions of devotees wait in long queues for many hours. Sometimes, devotees will need to spend more than 24 hours to see the god just for a fraction of second.

In what could be a welcome step for devotees of Lord Balaji and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, new board chairman BR Naidu is exploring the possibility to ensure a hassle-free darshan in just an hour. Though the ambitious proposal, on the face of it, appear improbable, the Chairman is very confident on making it happen very soon. This will be among the many sweeping changes he has been bringing in the biggest Hindu temple ever since assuming charge of the coveted post.

BR Naidu, during his recent media interaction with a leading new daily, stated that the TTD board is going to effectively utilise the services of Artificial Intelligence and deploy the face recognition technique with the help of Aadhaar card number to issue tokens for darshan for devotees visiting the shrine. He said nearly 45 counters all over the hilltop will be established to ensure that no overcrowding takes place to get these tokens.

Devotees will be allotted dedicated time slots for darshan and they will need to enter Vykuntam queue complex based on the timings and they will immediately be proceeded into the line, he added. The use of AI will be implemented for a week on experimental basis to find out the merits and demerits. If the plan succeeds, the same will be tabled in the upcoming board session for approval from its members.

The TTD chairman also revealed that non – Hindus who are working in Tirumala will be shifted out to other places or to state government on deputation. He stated that all employees of TTD will be given name badges very soon so that the devotees can indentify those who are abusing or misbehaving with them during their visit.

BR Naidu emphasized that there will be zero tolerance on those who resort to black ticket sales and other unlawful activities in Tirumala..
