CPI leader Narayana expressed his sorrow over the tragic stampede incident at Sandhya Theater during the benefit show of Pushpa. Extending his condolences to the family of Revathi, who lost her life in the incident, he also wished for the speedy recovery of her son Sreetej, who is seriously injured.
Narayana voiced his criticism of the government’s decision to allow an increase in ticket prices for the film. In a video statement, he questioned the purpose and societal value of Pushpa, asking, “Is the movie promoting the smuggling of red sandalwood? Along with glorifying smuggling, it contains obscene songs. Why should the government encourage such content by raising ticket prices?”
Narayana spoke in support of the police officials and emphasized the need for strict action from the government to prevent such tragedies in the future. He called on the film community, artists, and political leaders to collaborate on creating safeguards to avoid similar incidents.
Narayana urged the government to extend full support to the victim’s family and announced that the CPI would soon provide assistance to the affected family.
