A heavy to moderate rainfall in the next three days is predicted by the weather department. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said Telangana may witness heavy rains on Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to the pressure that formed over the South-east Bay of Bengal to the South-west Bay of Bengal. The IMD alerted that the several areas of Telangana are going to receive rainfall. Hyderabad is expected to witness a heavy rainfall.
The depression at 3.1 kilometre above the sea-level was formed near Sri Lanka. Now it is spread to Tamil Nadu which is expected to cause rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana till November 8. Several places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have witnessed heavy rainfall yesterday. Prakasam, Chittoor, Guntur and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh have received rainfall till today morning.
The recent incessant rains have created havoc in Hyderabad and other low-lying areas in Telangana. Last month, Hyderabad received the highest-ever rainfall in the last 200 years. Around 191.8 mm of rainfall was recorded in Hyderabad last month and it claimed over 50 lifes.
The heavy rains were due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal. Following this, a moderate rainfall was observed due to the low-pressure formed over North-east and Northern central Arabia sea in October itself. The fresh alert by the weather department is making the Hyderabad people tense.
