For A Change, Lokesh Gets Full Front Page On Sakshi

It is an open secret that the majority of the Telugu media publications are largely polarised either towards Telugu Desam or YSR Congress. In tune with this, Sakshi is regarded as a mouthpiece of Jagan’s YCP and is known for primarily elevating the Jagan party and slinging mud at TDP.

But for a change, Sakshi has now rolled out a full front page of its newspaper(today, January 18 version) entirely covering entirely Lokesh and his subsequent Telugu Desam campaign.

Much to everyone’s surprise today, Sakshi carried a full front-page ad of TDP’s membership campaign and highlighted Lokesh with the mainline “Under Lokesh’s leadership, TDP pays rich tribute to Sr NTR through 1 crore memberships.”

We see the pictures of Lokesh, Chandrababu, NTR, Balayya, and Palla Srinivasa Rao. In the bottom corner, we see Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and his wife Prashanthi Reddy who appear to have commissioned this front page ad in Sakshi.

Usually, Sakshi is acclimated to carry an anti-TDP agenda and its front pages are generally in this tone. So, it must have been a pleasant surprise for everyone who opened the paper today to see a full page campaign of TDP.

This campaign is in relation to the super successful membership drive of TDP which has officially crossed over 1 crore registrations thus far.

At the same time, it must also be noted that the government of AP has also gone the extra mile by taking time and resources to roll out a front pager ad for Sakshi which is an anti-TDP propagandist. This is a big step on the behalf of the AP government as well.

Earlier, the YCP government allegedly completely ignored Eenadu and Andhrajyothi by not giving them any ads between 2019-24. This selective and targeted media campaign approach has been put to an end by the NDA government now.
