Some three decades ago, global tech giant Microsoft CEO, Bill Gates met with Chandrababu Naidu on his trip to India. The discussion then was about the IT revolution in India and Babu could source some key inputs from Bill Gates, who was pioneering the stream then.
Roughly 3 decades after that meeting, which centred around the IT boom, both Chandrababu and Bill Gates came together again last week at the WEF in Davos. This was a rare and significant development as it marked the first coming together of Babu and Bill Gates after three long decades.
However, despite the lengthy layoff, the two of them still appeared to be sharing a great rapport. The same can be understood if we look at the souvenir that was gifted to Babu by Gates.
Gates gifted his upcoming unreleased book “Source Code” to Chandrababu and had a personal note to share on the front pages of the same. “To my friend, Chandrababu Naidu. It is great working together” Bill Gates wrote in the book that he gifted to Babu.
It was widely reported back then when Babu and Gates met for the first time that Gates was absolutely blown away by the visionary thought process that was put in front of him by Babu. This appears to have created a lasting impression for Gates and hence the personal interest in meeting with Babu again after all these years at Davos.
