If His Own Family Doesn’t Trust Him, How Can Sai Reddy?

The departure of Vijay Sai Reddy from politics and his subsequent fallout with Jaganmohan Reddy has created a fresh political discourse in Andhra Pradesh. This has become a key talking point in the state. IT Minister Nara Lokesh responded to this matter, offering a sharp critique.

While briefing the media today, Lokesh was asked about Vijay Sai Reddy’s political retirement and how the TDP perceives the development.

“From TDP’s standpoint, what we observe is that Jagan’s own mother and sister do not trust him. If that is the case with his own family, then how can we expect party leaders to work with him? As I have always said, Jagan is not fit for politics. If he gets enough money, he will sell his own party,” Lokesh stated.

Lokesh also drew attention to the strained relationships within Jagan’s family, particularly the tensions involving Vijayamma and Sharmila, to shed light on Jagan’s mindset and the reasons behind Vijay Sai Reddy’s exit.

When asked about the deputy chief minister post, Lokesh said, “I consider myself a foot soldier of the Telugu Desam Party, and I am ready to serve in any position needed. However, I believe that one person should not continue holding power for three terms in a row. I’ve already done it twice, and I am looking to avoid holding that position next term.” Lokesh seemed uninterested in further discussions on the deputy CM role, maintaining his position on leadership rotation.

Regarding his recent trip to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Lokesh clarified that the purpose was not to sign agreements on the spot. “The government’s intention was never to sign agreements there; it was about networking. Once the data is compiled, the agreements will be signed here based on that information,” he explained.
