As indicated by several leading media agencies and exit poll reports, the public mandate in Delhi has been largely in favour of the BJP as the incumbent AAP government was absolutely rejected by the people of Delhi.
Shortly after the results came out, and it was established that the BJP is forming the government in Delhi after 27 long years, both Kejriwal and Prime Minister Modi came out and issued public statements.
Kejriwal said he respects the public mandate delivered by the people of Delhi and says he will continue to fight for the cause of the public. He was fairly straightforward with his public statement as he said he is in politics to fight for the people and not to enjoy power.
Prime Minister Modi look extremely happy about this result as his long-standing dream of capturing Delhi has finally been achieved.
“Jana Shakti is paramount! Development wins, good governance triumphs. I bow to my dear sisters and brothers of Delhi for this resounding and historic mandate to BJP. We are humbled and honoured to receive these blessings.
It is our guarantee that we will leave no stone unturned in developing Delhi, improving the overall quality of life for the people and ensuring that Delhi has a prime role to play in building a Viksit Bharat.” Modi tweeted.
While former chief minister Kejriwal is expectedly gutted by this result, it is clear that Modi and his BJP leaders are over the moon after finally capturing Delhi after all these years.
