Jagan’s 1st Reaction On Vallabhaneni Vamsi

Andhra Pradesh politics witnessed significant turbulence with the arrest of former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. He was sentenced to remand for two weeks in connection with the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram.

This arrest has shaken up the YCP ecosystem, with its leaders expectedly condemning the police action. Now, it is Jagan’s turn to react to the matter, and here’s what he had to say in his first response to Vamsi’s arrest.

Jagan reiterated his usual concerns about the lack of law and order in the state and criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the recent turn of events.

“The way Chandrababu’s coalition government is handling the case of former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi is extremely unfair. In the Gannavaram case, a Dalit youth testified before a judge and exposed the ruling party’s conspiracy, stating that the TDP pressured him into filing a false case. Yet, Chandrababu Naidu remains determined to arrest Vamsi. Where is the law and order in the state?” Jagan questioned.

Jagan kept his comments on Vamsi’s arrest brief, prompting TDP cadres to highlight that he conveniently ignored the fact that Vamsi’s men had vandalized the TDP office in 2022—an incident Jagan seemingly enjoyed at the time. However, now that Vamsi is facing legal consequences for his actions during the YCP tenure, Jagan has suddenly taken issue with the situation.

Another point raised by TDP supporters is that Jagan does not appear particularly concerned about the arrest, as he attended a wedding ceremony and later traveled to Bengaluru while Vamsi remains entangled in legal proceedings.
