The increasing population in Hyderabad has been leading to heavy and frequent traffic snarls in the cosmopolitan city. The Telangana government has decided to collaborate with Google India to ease the traffic and ensure its smooth flow.
According to reports, a high-level delegation from Google visited the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Center (TGICCC) to find out ways to ease traffic movement and operations, using Google’s advanced technology.
The visit comes following an MoU between Google and Telangana government to introduce and implement tech-driven solutions across key sectors.
The Google team, led by senior executives from DeepMind, Google Cloud, and Google Customer Solutions, held discussion with Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand on traffic management strategies.
Google and Hyderabad police explored integrating live Google Maps data for real-time traffic updates, automating signals based on the vehicle flow, enhancing patrol vehicle tracking, and utilsing drone surveillance to monitor traffic congestion on roads.
Google’s experts also proposed using latest technological cloud-based solutions for improved data storage and AI-powered tools for faster CCTV footage retrieval.
This means Hyderabadis can expect to cutting down the usual time on commuting between destinations in the days ahead.
