It is known that the earlier YSR Congress government went unusually aggressive against government employees. When the employees protested against the imposition of CPS and clearance of pending bills of staff, there was abusive action taken by the then government.
In this context, the President of Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association, KR Suryanarayana who proactively led the protests against the government despite the extreme pressure that was asserted against him revealed the horrors of the earlier tenure.
SuryaNarayana revealed that the then chief of AP Intelligence, PSR Anjaneyulu threatened him to stop the protests and surrender before Sajjala.
He gave the implication that the government used everything in its power to suppress the government employee associations and also target the main chiefs of these groups. He said all the employee associations were extensively targeted by the Jagan government.
On the foreground, it was projected that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and chief secretary Jawahar Reddy were sent to mediate with the government employees. But going by the revelation made by SuryaNarayana, it could be understood that the government tried to threaten these individuals through gross misuse of power, says TDP leaders.
Subsequently, the government had even suspended Suryanarayana and several other association heads in 2023-24 by citing corruption and extortion charges. Many of them had to even abscond due to the intense police action against them.
