Yesterday, YSR Congress president, and the former CM of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan went against the law as he visited the Guntur Mirchi yard against the election commission code.
The immediate result of this irresponsible political visit was the lack of police protection, and this was followed by filing of a police case under multiple sections for blatantly violating the election code. On top of that, YCP even approached the governor and center, asking for central security arrangement to Jagan.
This matter was taken to Chief Minister Chandrababu, who is currently in Delhi for an official visit, where he attended the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and also participated in a key political NDA leaders’ meeting. He exposed Jagan by citing what had happened.
Chandrababu revealed that the election commission is an independent body and it sets regulations beyond political lines. At a time when election code is in effect, any politician must refrain from violating it.
“He(Jagan) knew that he is violating the code but he went anyway. How can he expect the police to protect him while he is doing something illegal? How is the department obliged to protect him while he is violating an election code? If the police protect him today, then he might commit something illegal tomorrow and ask for more protection. I have never seen a politician like him in my career.”
At a time when YSR Congress is looking to make a meal of this issue by writing to the centre about lack of security for Jagan and asking central security troopers, Babu exposed this blatant plan right on the streets of Delhi for everyone to see. He had a very valid point to make and he didn’t mince words about the same.
