A couple of days ago, chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu toured the GD Nellore constituency in Chittoor district and came up with a generic speech that was clearly aimed at the TDP cadres. There was this one particular bit where Babu advised the TDP cadres to be self sufficient first and not to work for YCP contractors who ran riot with government funds last term.
This was quickly picked up by YSR Congress social media groups, and they started to spread hate campaign against Babu. Their narrative and projection was such that Babu is clearly against YSR Congress cadres and contractors, which is not a good practice in politics.
However, this narrative was quickly busted by Atchannaidu in Andhra Pradesh Assembly today. He effectively turned down the narrative that was being built up by YSR Congress social media groups.
“It is very clear that they(YCP) are twisting the words of Chandrababu. If we look at the last five years of YSR Congress government, we can clearly understand who had this fascination of having party colours on buildings, pathways, and everywhere possible. In fact, Jagan had his colors on boundary stones as well. But our government is a moralistic system. We have only one agenda – be by the public. We won’t see within party lines or communal lines.” Atchannaidu said.
While this issue was being blown out of proportion by the YCP groups, the timely intervention from Atchannaidu in the assembly was the need of the hour. Exposing the narrative with facts was pretty important and the same was addressed in the assembly today.
