PM Narendra Modi is set to visit Andhra Pradesh soon. Since the formation of the NDA alliance government, Modi has shown a special focus on the state. He has already visited Visakhapatnam once, and has been addressing the requests of the state government. Recently, the state government received information that Prime Minister Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh in the second week of this month.
During his visit, Modi will lay the foundation stone for a missile testing center to be built in Gullalamoda, located in the Nagayalanka Mandal of Krishna district. The missile system is a key focus of the Ministry of Defence, and the Modi government has been prioritizing this project. The location was chosen during the previous TDP regime, primarily because of its proximity to the coast and its high geomagnetic potential.
The project is expected to cost between ₹15,000 crore to ₹20,000 crore over the next five years. The suitability of the site for the missile testing center was confirmed back in 2011. While land acquisition was completed in 2017, the other work had been delayed. Now, the state government held discussions with the central government, and Modi personally agreed to lay the foundation stone. Recently, the state government received confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the visit.
