Lokesh Addresses Important Yet Ignored Topic in Assembly

The Education and IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, has been making substantial progress in both of his ministries. In the assembly today, Lokesh addressed one particular issue that is extremely important but has been shockingly ignored by previous administrations.

Lokesh spoke at length about the student suicide phenomenon that has been shaking up the education sector.

Lokesh provided statistics on the issue, pointing out that 6 students died by suicide in 2016, and the number increased to 7 in 2021, 12 in 2022, and 17 in 2023.

Lokesh stated that the government must take proactive measures to reduce the suicide rate among students, which is extremely detrimental to society. He announced that the new government has appointed 280 counselors at educational institutions to help students deal with stress and other issues.

The minister pointed out that issues like ragging, low grades, and financial burdens are the primary reasons behind the high suicide rates. He emphasized that definitive measures will be taken to address these issues, which have been troubling the education sector.

It is rare for a cabinet minister to openly speak about the negative statistics in his own ministry to avoid scrutiny, but Lokesh proved to be different as he revealed the numbers related to the student suicide rate and shed light on this criminally undervalued topic in the assembly. This is certainly a good way to bring awareness to this issue.

Meanwhile, Lokesh has introduced a revolutionary new feature in Andhra Pradesh, allowing students to access their hall tickets digitally through the Mana Mitra WhatsApp service. He is taking several proactive measures in the education sector, and the results are expected to be seen soon.
