TDP Cadre Frustrated With Naga Babu’s ‘Karma’ Comments

Janasena had a crucial regrouping event yesterday as the party president and deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan held a plenary meeting in Pithapuram. This event expectedly featured other permanent, Janasena leaders, including Naga Babu, Kandula Durgesh, Konathala Ramakrishna and others.

However, there was this one particular incident involving Naga Babu that has now triggered a series of dissenting opinions amongst TDP cadres.

While speaking about the historic victory of Kalyan in the Pithapuram constituency, Naga Babu said “ There are only two factors that decided to Kalyan’s victory here. One is our president, Kalyan himself, and the other is the Janasainiks and people of Pithapuram. If anyone else thinks they are the reason behind Kalyan’s victory, it is their ‘karma’.”

As soon as Naga Babu made this statement on stage, there were a series of reactions as many felt he metaphorically referred to SVSN Varma while making this Karma statement.

The fundamental point that is to be noted, here is that Verma gave his very best to Kalyan. Even the JSP president himself said he is keeping his electoral campaign in Varma’s hands. Even after winning the election, Kalyan attributed this win to Varma.

But just when everything was going smoothly and progressively, Naga Babu somehow found this urge to take a dig at Varma which anguished the hardcore TDP cadres. Their opinion is that Naga Babu could have kept his statement to elevating Kalyan and speaking on this tone rather than indirectly targeting Varma who had nothing to do with it.

Moreover, the timing of this statement is a disaster. Naga Babu was just nominated to the legislative council as MLC and that too, it was Nara Lokesh who signed the first approval form for the same. It is going to be a matter of time before Naga Babu gets included in the cabinet, and coincidentally, this was also confirmed through TDP letterhead.

While TDP kept nurturing JSP and Naga Babu, this provocative statement yesterday caught negativity. Notably, Kalyan himself gave a mass elevation to Chandrababu as he said the senior statesman must be at the foreground of AP for the state to prosper.

Naga Babu had the habit of occasionally provoking TDP cadres back in the day as he even satired on Babu, Lokesh and Balayya. But after the alliance was formed, he was rather complacent and even thanked and praised Babu for his support during the recent MLC nomination. But at this positive moment, he had a brain fade moment on stage while making the “karma” statement.
