If there is one thing that has been consistently happening with YSR Congress, it would be the departure of key leaders and public representatives. The massive exodus is continuing even to this date with the departure of another MLC.
The newest addition to the list of exits from YCP is Marri Rajasekhar who was once a trusted leader for Jagan. Though he wasn’t very vocal in the party, he had the trust of Jagan.
However, after the electoral debacle, Rajasekhar had been staying away from party activities and his exit looked imminent. Now, the inevitable has happened and he quit the party.
Rajasekhar submitted his formal resignation to YCP and also the MLC position today and he is no longer a part of the party.
Another point that must be noted, here is that this is the fourth MLC to part ways with YCP after the historical electoral debacle in 2024.
Earlier, Pothula Sunitha also announced her resignation. Karri Padma Sri had left the party and her MLC position about six months ago, while Jayamangala Venkataramana resigned three months ago. Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy also stepped down from his MLC post and left the party around the same time.
