YS Jagan Repeats: ‘3 Years Opika Pattandi Nenu Vasthunna’

It appears that YS Jagan has prepared a standard script that he reads out every single time he makes a public appearance, regardless of the logical credence it carries. He did the same again today as he visited the Pulivendula constituency to interact with the farmers who had suffered due to torrential rains last week.

While speaking with the media after visiting the farmers, Jagan said he would become the chief minister again in three years and would set things right.

“3 years opika pattandi, Nenu malli CM avtha… anni maruthayi,” Jagan said in Telugu. This translates to, “Be patient for three years, and I will become the chief minister again.” He further added that one year has already passed in the blink of an eye, and the next three years will pass in the same manner before he becomes the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh again in the next election.

Rather than putting the framework and ideological changes into implementation, Jagan is simply using every occasion to say that he will become the CM again. This seems more like a delusional act aimed at creating a perception that Jagan is going to return as the CM again, rather than working towards this goal.

A few neutral observers are finding fault with Jagan for asking affected farmers (due to the rains) to wait for three years for him to become CM again in order for them to get justice. Meanwhile, the incumbent chief minister, Chandrababu, has promised crop insurance and timely support to the affected farming community. Some people are even saying that Jagan’s main intention in coming out in public is to repeatedly say he will become the CM again, rather than actually helping the public.
