The allegations about the privatisation of the Vizag steel plant has been the focal point of political discussion in Andhra Pradesh for the last few years. After the arrival of the NDA government, it was clearly communicated that the steel plant would not be privatised at any cost.
However, that is not stopping the YSR Congress group from spreading a propaganda against the steel plant. Every now and again, YCP leaders are carrying the narrative that Vizag steel plant is being privatised silently while the state and central governments have been denouncing the same.
In this context, chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu held a crucial meeting regarding the Vizag steel plant yesterday.
Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu today held a high-level review on the steps being taken by the Central and State Governments to strengthen the Visakhapatnam Steel Factory. In this meeting, Union Minister of State for Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma was a primary participant.
This is a crucial step towards the solidification of the Vizag steel plant and denounce the political controversy that is being created in the same.
The state and central governments have affirmatively confirmed that the Vizag steel plant is not being privatised. However, YCP is still trying to meal of this topic. In this context, some sort of affirmative action was needed from Chandrababu and he did the same through his high level meeting as this is a clear indication of the rigid hold of NDA government on strengthening of the steel plant, remarked a political observer.
