YSRCP key leader and Rajampet MP, Mithun Reddy, received a major blow on Thursday. The Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail petition in the liquor scam case. Mithun Reddy had filed the petition, seeking protection from arrest by the CID police. However, the court concluded its hearing and issued a final verdict, ruling that anticipatory bail cannot be granted to him.
In this case, the CID has filed charges against Mithun Reddy, alleging his involvement in a major liquor scam. Opposition leaders have accused him of being at the center of this scam, which they claim is even larger than the liquor scandal that brought down the AAP government in Delhi. They allege that Mithun Reddy was the mastermind behind the scam, and key actions were taken under his direction.
As per the reports, former YSRCP Parliamentary Party Leader, Vijayasai Reddy, in CID investigations, confirmed that the liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh was real. He also revealed that the scam was conducted under the leadership of Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, who is reportedly linked to Mithun Reddy. CID sources have indicated that they have gathered crucial evidence pointing to Mithun Reddy’s involvement.
Fearing arrest, Mithun Reddy had approached the High Court for anticipatory bail several days ago. The court had already heard his bail plea twice but ultimately sided with the CID’s arguments, deeming their evidence stronger. As a result, the court denied Mithun Reddy anticipatory bail.
This decision suggests that the CID has substantial evidence linking Mithun Reddy to the scam, and there are growing speculations that his arrest is imminent. The court’s ruling raises further questions about his direct involvement in the controversy.
