After struggling fiscally under the Y.S. Jagan government, Andhra Pradesh’s financial condition is slowly but surely improving. This was evident recently when it was announced that the state’s growth rate is the second-best in the country. This is a remarkable achievement by the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh.
Following this significant spike in the growth rate, the state has now recorded an impressive increase in the per capita income index.
Andhra Pradesh has seen a remarkable 11.89% rise in per capita income. With a registered per capita income of ₹2.66 lakh, Andhra Pradesh ranks third among Indian states in terms of per capita income.
Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are ahead, with over ₹3.5 lakh in per capita income. However, for a state like Andhra Pradesh, which has been struggling financially, a growth rate of 11.89% per capita income is an impressive achievement.
Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh has even surpassed Maharashtra in terms of per capita income growth percentage. While Maharashtra’s growth rate stands at 11%, Andhra Pradesh has achieved a growth rate of 11.89% in per capita income.
As for Telangana, the state has a higher per capita income at ₹3.79 lakh, which is one of the highest in the country. However, when it comes to growth rate, Andhra Pradesh leads again, with Telangana recording only a 9.61% increase.
Per capita income (PCI) measures the average value of a specific economic indicator (like income or GDP) per person in a population, allowing for comparisons across regions or time periods.
