Fact Check: Pawan Kalyan’s Convoy Didn’t Stop Students!

Earlier today, a speculative theory circulated regarding the convoy of Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan. The rumor emerged after news spread that a group of students in Vizag missed their exams due to traffic regulations put in place for the DCM’s visit.

This news quickly became the subject of intense speculation, with YSR Congress supporters on social media launching a campaign blaming Kalyan for the students missing their exams. They claimed the students were unable to reach their exam centers on time because of the convoy procession. A few videos were widely shared to support the claim that Kalyan’s visit was the reason behind the students missing their exams.

However, this narrative was debunked today by Vizag police, who issued an official statement to clear the air.

In their statement, Vizag police clarified that neither Kalyan nor his wife could be blamed for the students missing their exams. According to the police, the exam was scheduled for 8:30 AM, with a reporting time of 7:00 AM. More importantly, no student would have been allowed into the examination hall after 8:30 AM.

As for the convoy, the Vizag police confirmed it passed through the area at 8:41 AM, well after the 8:30 AM deadline for the exam. Therefore, there is no logical basis for claiming that Kalyan’s convoy caused the students to miss their exams.

Additionally, the Vizag police clarified that the service road from Gopalapatnam to Pendurthi was not obstructed before 8:30 AM to facilitate students heading to their exams. It was further revealed that the vehement hate campaign targeting Kalyan, which tried to involve students and add an emotional angle to the narrative, lacked credibility.
