It is known thing that Jammu and Kashmir is a very popular destination for Indian and international visitors during the summer season. The snowy mountain ranges of the region and the pleasantly cold weather offer a proper getaway from the summer heat.
However, things are going to be completely different this year, and this is mainly due to the terrorism attack that happened at Pahalgam yesterday, which suddenly resulted in the death of 27 civilians.
24 hours after this incident, we are witnessing reciprocal action as it is being reported that visitors and tourists have been leaving the state in a hurry.
Reportedly, as many as 4000 visitors have left Jammu and Kashmir in the last six hours itself. The Srinagar airport is reportedly witnessing a huge list of departing passengers and Air India is reportedly running multiple additional services to expedite the same.
The natural expectation now is that the hotel bookings and also additional tourism revenue that would have otherwise been generated will be largely canceled now due to terrorism threat.
The hard fact now is that Jammu and Kashmir is trembling under extreme pressure with retaliatory measures by the Indian army which has led to a high intensity situation.
