Amaravati is being developed not just as a capital city, but as a national-level hub that connects neighboring states and attracts global investment.
The Andhra Pradesh government, is planning to develop Amaravati beyond the earlier expectations. The aim is to turn it into a national project and connect it with major parts of India through national highways.
To make this vision a reality, the CM is exploring all possible options. One major plan is to connect Amaravati with cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata using new national highways. Once these projects are complete, Amaravati will be more accessible not only for people within Andhra Pradesh but also for those from neighboring states.
The government is also preparing to welcome international investors. To support this, they are planning to build an international airport in Amaravati. For this, around 30,000 to 40,000 acres of land will be acquired. The goal is to complete this process in two years.
In terms of road connectivity, the state has finalized a master plan that includes three important highways:
Elevated Corridor-5
Elevated Corridor-13
National Highway-13
These highways will link Amaravati directly to Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, improving national road connectivity. Several investors have already discussed these routes with CM Chandrababu Naidu.
Based on this, the government is expected to invite tenders for the highway projects by Thursday or Friday. They will also communicate with the central government to get clarity and support for the construction.
