BJP MP Etela Rajender made a surprising statement, saying that Andhra Pradesh, despite not having a capital city after the state split, is showing impressive development. He compared it to Telangana, which has more resources but is still lagging behind.
Speaking at a press meet in Hyderabad on Telangana Formation Day, Etela pointed out that AP is progressing faster even though its per capita income is lower than Telangana’s. He praised AP’s rapid development under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, especially after his return as Chief Minister. In just 11 months, AP attracted ₹8.5 lakh crore in investments and is expected to generate around 7 lakh jobs.
Etela also highlighted how Naidu restarted the Amaravati capital works with urgency, changing the state’s image quickly. On the other hand, he criticized both BRS and Congress for failing to deliver results in Telangana during their rule. He said instead of blaming each other, the current Congress government should focus on real development.
He added that Telangana can grow rapidly if it uses its resources wisely and keeps political rivalries aside.
