As hoped by US President Donald Trump, tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is heading towards a reconciliation with him. After an epic fallout between the duo in the recent past, Musk tendered a public apology on X, following which his net worth increased modestly.
Musk’s fortune increased by $191 million to $411.4 billion, after he expressed regret over the remarks made against Trump. “Certain posts directed at Trump might have been ‘gone too far’, he acknowledged.
On X, he wrote: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.” Reportedly, Musk called Trump on phone before making his public apology.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Trump had received Musk’s message and was thankful. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump, while speaking about Musk’s apology, said that: “I thought it was very nice that he did that.”
A verbal feud broke up between the duo when Musk openly slammed Trump’s economic legislation, calling it ‘The Big Ugly Bill’ while the President termed it ‘The Big, Beautiful Bill’. Before the critical remarks against the Bill, Musk had resigned from his position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
