One of the primary demands of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been the allocation of Z+ category security. He has been repeatedly pressuring the state government to grant him Z+ security and even approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court on the matter.
During the court hearing, Deputy Solicitor General Ponna Rao submitted the central intelligence report before the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
According to the report submitted in court, the Intelligence Bureau concluded that there is no credible life threat to the former Chief Minister.
While Jagan claimed that his life was under threat and requested Z+ security with CRPF and NSG commandos, the Intelligence Bureau stated there is no immediate or serious threat to his life.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government argued that Jagan is already being provided Z+ security with 58 personnel, which they consider adequate. It appears that Jagan is seeking an extraordinary level of security, which, at this point, does not seem necessary or practical.
